About Me

Dr. Santhana Krishna Kumar is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at NSYSU, Taiwan, where he joined in August 2023. Prior to his tenure at NSYSU, he served as an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) in the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics, and Environmental Protection at AGH University of Krakow, Poland, from 2021 to 2023.

He earned his Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS-Pilani, India) in 2014 under the guidance of Professor N. Rajesh. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Krishna embarked on a postdoctoral research journey at NSYSU, Taiwan, from 2014 to 2017, under the mentorship of Professor Shiuh-Jen Jiang (now retired). Subsequently, he transitioned to Professor Wei-lung Tseng’s Lab at NSYSU from 2017 to 2021, where he honed his experimental skills extensively. During his postdoctoral tenure, Dr. Krishna specialized in the preparation of zero-dimensional, one-dimensional, and two-dimensional fluorescent probes for practical applications in chemical sensors, bio-imaging, and cancer cell treatment. Additionally, he made significant contributions to the development of numerous photocatalysts for the visible-light-induced catalytic degradation of aromatic nitro compounds, such as Tri-nitro phenols (TNP), Tri-nitro aniline (TNT), and nitro aniline.
